The government has a stated VAWG Strategy with specific commitments on prosecution rates and victim support. Analysis by the House of Commons Library, drawing on National Audit Office findings, found that around 78% of those commitments had been implemented as of July 2024, against the government's own target of full implementation by December 2024, with £22 million of the £149 million funding allocation unspent.

Women's Aid's 2026 Annual Audit found a national shortfall of 19.9% in refuge bedspaces. Lack of capacity was the most common reason for rejected refuge referrals, accounting for 42.7% of all referral rejections. Your MP can press the Home Secretary to account for progress against the VAWG Strategy's specific commitments, explain why allocated funding remains unspent, and raise refuge capacity as a direct constituency concern.
